The following will be my interpretation and idea of Power and Conflict Revision as in poetry. As a poet of sorts myself, and with so many forms and bases in and on which a poem is written, even if the same topic is chosen it can be so different it may all be Greek to the misunderstood. So here goes and my apologies to those who may find it weird or different from your own vision of what you see or interpret poetry and its forms as! Poetry based on the topic of Power and Conflict Revision is something that can be done in a simple form or a uniquely critical and angry way, where no rhyming is involved or even seem to make no sense at all on your first read! The first thing I would do when it comes to this type of poetry is to explain through my style of writing the situation or situations that are causing this Power and Conflict Revision and unfortunately, as I am a bit biased against the conflict created by the abuse of power I will most probably write mostly about the negative side of it as people in power (as per my country I live in South Africa) abuses power as if it is free of charge. I would openly give my views on why I condemn the abuse and support the conflict it creates even if it means it might incite violence. The type of language I use will not be your typical Shakespeare or Bronte styled writing but just plain simple down to earth words that can reach the intended target person or group, so that they can be understood immediately and not be misconstrued as a call for an uprising if relates to power abuse from government or conflict relating to relationships, to send them on a path of rage. I will also repeatedly put the wording in such a way that not only makes the person reading it understands what I am trying to say but also that it is my point of view and no one else’s and this is what I will do. Power cause abuse especially in third world countries like mine and the conflict that arises from that can destroy not only the government(which here is a good thing) but can rip families apart and that again is not good. That is why I use poetry as a platform as all people who understand poetry know it is a personal opinion and you take that opinion and adapt to your own situation to get your own solution, and to think it can be done through Haiku as well.
