Coron Bay
Discover the snorkeling wonders at Coron Bay. The bay is situated at the tip northern tip of the archipelago and is best known for a diversity of coral reefs. The Kalambuyan Reef has the most corals plus an immense collection of sea creatures. Find some of the most stunning shipwrecks in the southeast of Asia. A lot of Japanese ships were wrecked at the Coron Bay during World War II. So, you will be diving while learning history. Visit the place from December to March. The Wall
Located in Roxas, The Wall is not known by many but has excellent marinetbiology to offer. Within 20 minutes via boat, you should be able to get to The Wall from the mainland. El Nido
There is an abundance of marine life and coral reefs in El Nido, especially at the Tagbao islands. Three significant reefs are located in between the islands in the north-west of Miniloc. The islands are characterized by shallow waters hence beginners will find these locations useful while watching the stunning corals. Explore the reef to see crayfish, reef fish, and whale sharks in the months of October to December.
Tubbataha Reef Natural Park
Alongside Coron island and El Nido is this UNESCO World Heritage Site with about 97,000 hectares housing over 600 species of fish. Spot dolphins, sharks, and birds around. Tubbataha Reef Natural Park can only be accessed using live aboard diving vessels in the moths of March through June.
Barracuda Lake
Barracuda Lake is hailed as the craziest diving spot in the entire Philippines. The lake features a volcanic crater with both salty and fresh water. Its name originated from a huge barracuda skeleton that was discovered in its waters a long time ago. Barracudas are said to inhabit the lake but they are harmless.
Puerto Princesa
If you are seeking a more challenging diving experience, the Cuttlefish Shawl is an ideal spot to dive in Puerto Princesa. Expect great depths harboring angelfish, cuttlefish, barracuda, and sea turtles. Cuttlefish are popular for changing their texture, shapes, and colors just to blend in to the surrounds. Only dive in Puerto Princesa if you have enough diving experience. Also, ask for help from the locals if you feel lost.
