All About Testosterone Hormone

The human body is a complex system consisting of dozens of organs, hormones, enzymes and other types of compounds. Testosterone, for instance, is a hormone found in both the male and female bodies. However, men have more testosterone than women as it is primarily a sex hormone. The human body usually starts to produce testosterone at around puberty. This is between 12-14 years. The hormone is produced in the testicles and it’s responsible for a wide range of primary and secondary male sexual characteristics.

Upon reaching puberty, the hormone is released from the testicles and pumped into the bloodstream. The hormone stimulates muscle growth, hair growth, increases bone density and aggression and many other things. Testosterone production peaks at the age of 18-22 years. At around the age of 30-35 years, testosterone production starts to decline. This often leads to a feeling of lack of energy, baldness, reduced sexual stamina and a wide range of other unwanted effects. To boost testosterone production, the following are options to consider:

i) Testosterone Supplements

There are many testosterone supplements on the market. These supplements contain ingredients that are known to stimulate natural production of the hormone. With regular use of testosterone supplements, the user can expect to experience a rapid increase in testosterone production.

ii) Exercise

Exercise is known to boost testosterone production. As you hit 30 years, consider joining a gym and working out at least three days a week. Jogging, swimming and cycling on a regular basis are highly recommended. Not only can exercise help to boost testosterone production, it can also go a long way in helping you lose weight. Therefore, you should take your workout routine seriously. It is also recommended you hire a fitness instructor if you can afford it. Alternatively, you can join a fitness group.

iii) Testosterone Replacement

Reduced testosterone levels can cause a variety of problems. To reverse the problem, you should talk to your doctor. The doctor will most likely write you a prescription for testosterone replacement. You can easily find testosterone drugs at local pharmacies and drug stores provided you have a prescription. The drugs will immediately boost your testosterone levels and reverse the condition. Unfortunately, some testosterone drugs are known to inhibit natural production of testosterone.

Whenever you exhibit symptoms of low testosterone, it is recommended you seek medical attention. This is because the condition can easily be dealt with when discovered early.
