With the invent of more and more anime movies and comics (some even made now in the united states of America) the market has exploded exponentially.
Many companies online and retail has started exploding in their making and marketing in Anime Costumes.
Not only do they have to be as accurate as possible, as the anime fans are very unique and strict when it comes to duplicating and or representing characters.
So to make these Anime Costumes is not just a fly by night job and cheaply made so to make a quick buck.
With the costs of these costumes been low at the beginning but now with the movies being made based on these anime cartoons by real actors(and sometimes even a combination of both human and anime) the costumes has been made so much more expensive as it not only looked exactly but everything associated with it now came with a high expense.
This now caused the costume makers to branch out to the Cosplay, Comicon and even fashion dress parties, and can you believe it some singers for their videos, and making it just as good as the movies with the movies costs.
The best part of this is that not only is the costume an exact replica with wig, makeup and even contacts for eyes but it comes in all sizes and shapes for one and all who wants to go and enjoy a weekend, night or day out at Cosplay, anime Comicon and parties.
The reason their was an actual slow production of these costumes was as many was made in The United States of America and many of them did not understand the anime world until they got the Japanese creators in as well as the “Comicon” specialists and only then did the actual reality of the costume come to the fore.
The new Comicon scene which was dominated mostly by space characters like Star Trek and Star Wars has now basically been taken over by almost 80% anime and the costumes fortunately, or unfortunately is unisex.
Many characters looks and acts like females with the huge hair but are males and vice versa.
That’s why the importance of getting the look right as per contacts , wigs and even dresses worn by men must be exact as strangely enough what we in the western world consider costumes to be made only for male or female, just a slight difference in a wig or even a contact lens will stipulate men or women.
