Can You Use Color Toric Lenses For Astigmatism

Astigmatism affects many people across the globe but not in abundance as we think, as to produce products on such a scale that what we need is always freely and cheaply available.

It’s with this in mind we can now say we have access for astigmatism persons to get access to not only contact lenses for the correction of our vision but also “Toric Colored Lenses” which we can use as either going to parties, dress-ups, Comicon ETC without having to run around with normal spectacles in a costume that it doesn’t fit with.

Also where spectacle might get in the way of your work or employment for example modeling or scuba diving, now all we need is the new Toric lens and off you go.

Now before we go on to the different types of Toric lenses just remember when choosing a color never choose one that is darker than your natural eye color as this will cause your eyes to struggle to see through the color as it is mostly made of pigment and forces your iris to become pinpricks towards the center, just to see through the color and always choose the most permeable of lenses as it allows the most oxygen through instead of having your eyes having to rely on extra oxygen to be supplied by the blood vessels and increasing the pressure on the eye and in turn can damage the eye/s further and even worse.

The main type of Toric lenses you can get (normal or in color) and its function:

Soft Toric Contact Lenses:

The soft contact lenses used to correct the vision of astigmatism sufferers is usually referred to as Toric Contact Lenses.

They are usually made of conventional material like hydrogel or more breathable material that is more of a silicon type hydrogel.

Toric lenses differ in two ways that the normal contacts for the two types of sight problems experienced.

Normal lenses come in a spherical shape and soft material for myopia (short-sightedness) or hyperopia (long-sightedness) and only correct theses two types of conditions.

But Toric lenses differ in two ways:

  1. As the eye has different meridians that characterize astigmatism as in the condition of the amount of short or long-sighted problem, it comes in different powers especially fitting for that problem in one
  2. For clearer vision, the Toric lens aligns and rotates according to the cornea’s orientation and the alignment of the meridian.

Now that you know about the Toric Lens itself remember like any other color contact always follow your doctor’s orders when it comes to picking, purchasing, caring and cleaning your lenses.

It’s no use your pay hundreds of dollars to have your vision corrected with Toric Colored Lenses and then you go and buy a cheap untrustworthy one from either your corner drugstore or online and you end up blind or damages to your eye because of one night you just wanted to have a different look.

So beware and remember if your doctor says No to color lenses it stays no if they say yes but only go to a reliable source then go to that source. Do not cut corners as this is your vision we are speaking about
