In his paintings, Max Gimblett employs a combination of Western and Eastern brushwork techniques, creating a truly unique style.

Another artist worth exploring is Simon Denny, born in Auckland and now based in Berlin. Denny is known for his awareness of technology and its effects on society. His work uses computer graphics and installation art to analyze the influence of the tech world and the internet. His ability to combine technology and art into a harmonious relationship is truly amazing.

Michael Parekowhai, a multimedia artist and curator, is renowned for his large-scale sculptures that use humor, irony and a sense of cohesiveness to channel his message. His work often features Maori and Polynesian cultural elements, making him one of the most celebrated contemporary NZ artists.

Her medium of choice is print, using woodcuts and lithographs to depict tales of the Maori people. Her integration of indigenous figures creates a sense of connection to Aotearoa, acknowledging the history of the land upon which we stand.

Lastly, we have Lisa Reihana, a multi-talented and award-winning artist. She is best known for her digital work, “in Pursuit of Venus, ” which was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2017.
