Kids activities are a great way to have fun and get kids out of the house. These activities can be as simple as going to a park, or they can be more complex, like taking kids on an outdoor excursion. That’s right- if you’re looking for something different, try some outdoor kids activities Tampa! There are tons of places that offer these experiences, and we’ve put together this list of 5 things every family should do before summer ends:
Bike Ride Along The Hillsborough River
The Hillsborough River is beautiful, and kids love riding along with it, taking in the scenery. There are even some spots that offer bike rentals!
Stroll Along Tampa’s Riverwalk
Tampa’s Riverwalk is perfect for an evening stroll with kids (and even better if you’ve got a baby carrier). The walkway follows the Hillsborough River- make sure to bring cash or credit cards because there are lots of great restaurants here where kids can eat before heading home.
Fishing at Bartlett Park
Bartlett Park contains miles upon miles of trails that provide ample opportunity to hike around while looking out for wildlife like alligators and turtles! It also has fishing docks so kids can try their luck catching small fish. If they’re lucky, they might even catch some catfish.
Museum of Science and Industry
While the kids are at MOSI, adults can take a break in one of their cafes or restaurants (we recommend grabbing lunch outside shaded picnic tables if you want to be outdoors). The museum is full of hands-on exhibits that kids will love, like “The Adventure Park,” which has rope climbing courses for kids aged four through ten years old!
Hillsborough River State Park
This park contains over eight miles worth of trails for hiking or biking, along with kayak rentals. You’ll definitely need your own transportation here because it’s really best suited as an outdoor destination, but once you’re there, kids can climb around on boulders, splash in rivers, and explore nature. It’s a beautiful place to spend the afternoon with kids!
The Florida Aquarium
This is one of our favorite attractions for kids because they will enjoy learning about all kinds of different marine life from leopard sharks, coral reefs, jellyfish, manatees, stingrays, and more. There are also special events like sleepovers where kids can stay overnight in the aquarium at night! If that sounds terrifying, then don’t worry- there are always fun events going on during the day, too, so even if your kids aren’t ready for overnights yet, you’ll have plenty of chances to check out this awesome attraction.
To conclude, if you are looking for kids activities Tampa, then the ones listed above are great, be sure to check them out.
