The Network Security Specialist position entails analyzing various log files from multiple sources like firewall logs, network traffic logs, domain name system (DNS), system logs, and others to detect the possible threats to network security. The Network Security Specialist also analyzes the attacks on the systems in real-time. Some of the common tasks included in a Network Security Specialist’s responsibilities include creating security plans, testing security methods, implementing changes, benchmarking and training employees, etc. To make things clear, the term Network Security Specialist does not necessarily mean that one is an IT professional who has expertise in designing networks or building them. A Network Security Specialist has a working knowledge of the different threats and vulnerabilities faced by companies worldwide, particularly those using the internet for their business activities.
Having the Proper Credentials

Most companies will prefer to hire someone with several years of work experience in the field.
