The space has an impressive height of four to five meters and a triangle-shaped table on the wall that draws inspiration from the tiled detail inside.

In Ashfield, it’s worth the trip to check out the new Ashfield Apothecary, which opened next door to the brickfields cafe. Owner Mandeep Bhusal makes everything in-house, including the bread and pastrami sandwiches. You can order anything from a sandwich to a gourmet cup of coffee, with a range of delicious toppings to choose from. A great breakfast sandwich at Brickfields will set you back $13.

Excelsior Jones

A corner cafe in Ashfield, this Excelsior Jones cafe takes its name from one of the streets at its junction. The decor of the cafe is modern and eclectic, with mod art on the exterior walls and a bright mural inside. There is plenty of seating indoors, and it is easy to reserve a table online. You can even bring your pets if you like. The friendly staff is a real plus, and the prices are very reasonable. The decor is stunning, and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

This cafe is located in Ashfield’s Queen Street neighborhood and has a milk bar-like interior with big windows and a snappy brunch menu. Founders Anthony Svilicich and James Naylor, who previously worked together at Le Monde, have created a place that makes the area’s residents happy. Room 10

Opened in 2020 across the lane from Ashfield train station, this laneway cafe is popular with foodies and chefs alike. The all-day breakfast and lunch menu features a wide selection of dishes, including a famous black quinoa dish and a stewed rhubarb sandwich. The bacon and egg roll is also well worth trying.
