Momentous occasions should be celebrated. However, sometimes you don’t really get much time to plan for it. Maybe you met a new friend in school or the office and just found out about their birthday. Perhaps your brother or sister called to tell you about some great news like a personal milestone, a scholarship, or an award. Make sure that they know just how proud you are of them by throwing a party in their honor. It doesn’t have to be anything grand. That might be too hard, especially if the clock is already ticking and the funds are low. Here are some tips of last minute party planning:
Mobilize Your Social Network
Social media can be toxic sometimes but it can be extremely useful in this instance. Send a message out to your friends and ask them if they could come to the party. Tell them what it is all about and how they can be of assistance. You will need all the help you can get to pull this off given the time constraints. Set up a page for it to make it easier to discuss the details and keep track of who’s coming. This will make it easier to estimate the amount of food and drinks that you have to purchase later.
Get Creative with Decor
If you have a few days to prepare, then you can probably shop only and wait for the products to be delivered. However, if the window is tighter then you will need to shop at local stores right away. Ask around to find party hats and festive room decorations. Some dollar stores could have awesome finds so be sure to swing by and see what they have to offer. You will be able to make the house look great even without spending a ton of money. You might also want to design a banner and have it printed on tarpaulin or cut out the letters will paste or staple them on a wide sheet.
Order Pre-cooked Food
With all this running around, you are unlikely to have time to cook food but you can’t let your guests go hungry. Make use of the restaurants around town to get nice treats. Another option is to go to one of the big grocery stores as they usually have a deli and bakery section. No party is complete without a cake so be sure to get one. There are plenty of Walmart cakes to choose from with different flavors and designs. Pick one that the celebrant will probably like and place a candle on it for good measure.
