The downside, however, is that you cannot receive cash for your skins in this marketplace; you can only use proceeds from it to buy other digital goods (such as card packs or gift cards) within the Steam platform.
Private Offers
You can also approach people directly to see if they want to buy your skins. You can do this through forums, Discord servers, social media and similar sites by creating or responding to comments. Using this approach you have a better chance of getting the price or skin that you want. The downside of this approach, if you use Steam approved sites, is that your money must be held in a Steam wallet and they may take a fee for the transaction that can be up to 15% of the amount.
Third-Party Marketplaces
Unlike Steam associated marketplaces, the ones run by third-parties will buy skins and payout in cash (usually through Paypal). While the prices may be lower than what you can achieve on Steam approved markets there is no transaction fee and you will be able to earn real money (and fast). However not all of these sites are safe and some may include scammers so you need to be wary of who you deal with.
