Best Hangover Drink Remedies

Many people love to let their hair down on the weekend, go out with friends, and have a good time. Unfortunately, there are some nights when you end up having a few more drinks than you intended. While this can make for a fun and exciting evening, you could end up paying for it the next day. If you drank more than you should have the night before, you should know the best hangover drink. There are a few different beverages that can lessen the duration of your hangover and it they can also lessen the severity.

Water

When you get drunk, you become dehydrated. This is because alcohol is a diuretic and it pushes liquids out of your body. This is the reason why you use the bathroom so often during a night of drinking. In the morning, there is very little water left in your body so it takes it from other sources. In many cases, your body will take water from your brain which results in a headache. Before you go to bed, drink a few glasses of water. If you were too drunk to remember, drink as much water as possible in the morning.

Pedialyte

If you have kids, you have likely purchased Pedialyte. This is a drink for kids who are vomiting or have diarrhea. The drink is designed to rehydrate and increase the electrolytes that the child has lost while being dehydrated. Since you lose water and electrolytes when you drink, Pedialyte can help. Best of all, it is low in calories. Many people will drink sports drinks such as Gatorade or Power Aid. While these drinks can help, they have much more sugar than Pedialyte. Sugar will only make your hangover worse. Also, they are high in calories. If you are watching your calorie intake, Pedialyte is the better option.

Ginger Tea or Peppermint Tea

If you like tea, a cup or two of peppermint tea or ginger tea can help. Ginger is known for reducing nausea, which is a common symptom of a hangover. If you don’t like ginger, peppermint will ease your stomach pains while decreasing your nausea.

Pickle Juice

This may sound like a very strange hangover remedy drink, however, it has been known to work. This is because pickle juice contains water, vinegar, and salt, all of which can help to rehydrate you, replenish your electrolytes, and improve your sodium level. Before you go out, take a shot of pickle juice. When you wake up in the morning, take another shot.

Waking up with a hangover can make it difficult to get through the day. It can even make it difficult to get out of bed. If you try one of the drinks listed above, you should start feeling like yourself in no time.
