Auto Close Door Hinge is an innovative Auto Close Door Hinge, that is useful in any heavy-duty commercial and or industrial swing door applications, and all this is achieved by a simple design and combination use of spring technology and hydraulic mechanism power.
It is quite an amazingly simple and compact design with just arms and hinges in one body.
WHAT IS A SELF-CLOSING DOOR HINGE?
It looks like a normal door hinge but with a bigger barrel as that is where the spring mechanism is situated that makes it self-closing.
When replacing your current hinges with the new self-closing ones, do it one by one, so you don’t have to take the whole door off, especially if you are alone.
Once you’ve done that all you need to do is wind and adjust the springs by checking the instructions, that is quite easy to understand and the tools also provided.
WHAT IS AN AUTO DOOR CLOSER?
Essentially its is a device fitted onto your door that when your door is opened automatically or manually it will close on its own and can be adjusted to close at different speeds as well.
You can use this device on all variety of doors, even the electromagnetic open and shut swing doors and many more.
HOW DO YOU FIX OR ADJUST THESE TYPES OF HINGES?
- Take out the locking pin and keep it safe, as you do not want to lose it. It is a good idea to have a container to put all parts in and a magnetic screwdriver to prevent the loss of anything. Now use your Hex wrench by placing it into the socket on top of the hinge where the spring is and turn in either direction, to release the tension on the spring. Once that is done just remove the spring with pliers.
- Always make sure you loosen or tighten any screws on the tension spring in small steps. Rotate the wrench until the next hole comes into view and re-install the pin. Now all you need to do is test your door closing rate.
HOW TO PREVENT THE DOOR FROM SLAMMING SHUT TO FAST AND HARD?
Stick a few felt pads onto the edge of your door frame at the top and bottom, as well as top and bottom of the frame with two last ones on the strike plate on the top and bottom.
This felt padding should provide just enough cushioning to slow the door down when closing and prevents the slamming door.
Shush with winter stripping.
