Honey Garlic Pork Chops: A Great Meal

The best dinner recipes are usually the simplest. It does not require much to make a great dinner, and honey garlic pork chops are about as simple as it comes. All you need to do is combine a few basic condiments, add on a starch and a vegetable, and you have a great little dinner for a small family. All you need is a few minutes, and you can create a delicious dinner.

What You Need

The glaze itself is simple: Combine a quarter-cup of ketchup, two tablespoons of soy sauce, and two-and-two-thrids tablespoons of honey. Crush two cloves of garlic and mix those into the glaze. You should have enough glaze for six four-ounce pork chops.

To cook the pork chops heat a grill and lightly cover with oil. Put the pork chops on the grill, and cover them with the glaze as they cook. It should take about seven to nine minutes per side to cook properly, an interior thermometer should read about 146 degrees Fahrenheit or 63 degrees Celsius. Take them off the heat and enjoy.

The Sides

The starch should be relatively plain tasting; the pork chops are going to be plenty flavorful on their own and so something a little more plain should work fine. Potatoes are good side for this, and should not need much more flavoring than a little salt and butter. Rice is another good option, especially if it is just a little on the sticky side. Pasta can also work, but it may be just a little too heavy for this.

Which vegetable you choose will depend on the season. For summer, a good basic salad should work, especially if you use a vinegar dressing; again, you do not need to have too much fun as the chops have a lot of flavor and so just greens, tomatoes, onions, and a light vinegar dressing is going to be more than sufficient. For colder weather, you will want some cooked vegetables, such as grilled asparagus spears, some green beans, or even some decent kernel corn.

Honey garlic pork chops make for an ideal dinner, especially for someone looking for something a little sweet and salty. Throw on some sides that can contrast the flavors, and you can have dinner in less than half an hour. Have a little fun while keeping it basic and you should have a delicious little dinner for six.
